"I have a little of everything here. I've got something here of how people worked, how they played, how they lived, and they [young people] can see it firsthand." - Wayne Norwood, Country Roads Magazine, 2011
Wayne Norwood began the primary collection of Louisiana Treasures in 1968, when he began diving into the murky waters of Lake Ponchartrain and uncovering many of its forgotten treasures. After years of exploring historic and long abandoned old homesteads and sites in towns, like Manchac and Ruddock, Wayne managed to accumulate many findings in several major areas. These include displays on Native American artifacts, various glass bottles, agricultural items, materials from several wars, and miscellaneous items.
